One host. One speaker. Every phone connected. Place the biggest songs on your personal timeline.
You choose the sound, pace and rules. Then your QR code appears for everyone to join.
Choose 1–6 categories. Eras filter strictly by decade; genres create a broader mix.

The starting anchor is the first year card. It is generated to match your selected music eras.
Each option can be switched independently. CHILL ignores knowledge bonuses even when enabled.
No rulebook, no card piles: the host plays the track, every phone stays in sync, and the app handles the timeline, reveal and scoring.

The song starts from 0:00 on the host device. Title, artist and year stay hidden until the reveal.
The active player places the song before, after or between the year cards already on their timeline.
The host reveals the answer. Correct placement scores points; depending on the mode, year, artist and title also count.
The player with the most points wins. A tie means a shared victory — or one spontaneous tiebreaker round.
HEAR IT. PLACE IT. OWN IT.Enable GROOVES in the setup and every player starts with two. They let players risk and win points even outside their own turn.
Eras only select songs from that decade. Genres add matching tracks. Up to six categories keep the pool focused.
The timer only runs during the active turn. With ∞, the game waits until the host reveals. The round count controls total game length.
CHILL only scores the correct position. PARTY gives 100 points for placement plus smaller knowledge bonuses. PRO raises both risk and reward.
The anchor is the first year card on each timeline. Same for all is maximally comparable; random per player creates more varied timelines.
From six phones to YouTube Premium: these are the answers before round one starts.
A room supports up to 12 players at once. Six players are fully supported; the host runs separately on a phone, tablet or computer.
HISTUNE stores no audio files. The app uses curated song data and loads each track in the official YouTube player on the host device. Title, artist and year remain hidden until reveal.
No. Only the host device plays the music. Players only need a browser for their timeline, guesses and score. Premium is optional and may avoid ads on the host device.
Yes. HISTUNE always loads the track from the beginning. If the browser blocks autoplay, the host taps ▶ once inside the embedded player. The round then stays synchronized.
No—intentionally only on the host. This avoids echo and timing differences. Connect the host to the speaker; all other phones only show personal game actions.
YouTube Free may show ads; HISTUNE does not block or alter them. With a signed-in YouTube Premium account, playback is normally ad-free. If autoplay is blocked, start the player manually once.
Not currently. Under Spotify's current developer rules, a direct Spotify integration for music games is not permitted without written approval. We therefore do not show a half-working Spotify option and will first evaluate a compliant solution.
No. The host creates a game, everyone else scans the QR code, enters a name and plays in the browser. Players do not need an account.
